A new E.K.R.Y historical highway marker is scheduled for dedication on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 1pm. in Hitchins, Kentucky.

     The Eastern Kentucky Railway Historical Society was started in the early 1990s by Jim Allen, Don Maxwell, and Chad Fannin. Their goal is to preserve the history of the E.K. Railway by erecting Kentucky Historical Highway Markers along the old rail line. Your yearly membership contributions assist with the highway markers as well as exhibit railway artifacts at the McConnell House in Wurtland, Kentucky.
