Welcome to The Eastern Kentucky Railway Company Webpage!

I am happy to announce the release of the book "Eastern Kentucky Railway", it will be available through Barnes & Noble, Borders, Amazon, Target, and Books a Million, as well as other  national and international book distributors! I am so very thankful to the Greenup News - Times for doing a cover page story about the book! One correction should be noted: I am a member of the Eastern Kentucky Railway Historical Society, not the founder as published in the article. It was founded in the early 1990s by Jim Allen, Don Maxwell, and Chad Fannin.... they deserve the credit for that! see article here.

Thank you for stopping by! If you have any questions or you would like to share your information with us, please click on the e-mail link below. You will also notice several areas have not been completed. We are working on them and they should be completed soon!

Wriving along part's of route 1 and 207 through Greenup, Carter, and Lawrence Counties in Eastern Kentucky, you may pass old buildings, bridges, and seemingly unimportant earth works. It is difficult to believe that just a century before, a railroad ran this same path. With a little imagination and some historical investigating, this webpage will bring the sites and sounds of The E.K. Railroad back to life.

I wish to thank Gaines Johnson and Gaines Johnson Imagineering for doing the video clip of the railway! Very nice! Check it out below!

I apologize for the delay with getting this site up and running at full steam. I have been busy working on a couple of books and a documentary. But should have it up to par by the end of September.

The History link will take you on a rail trip through The E.K. Railroad History. Beginning with Riverton to Grayson and ending in Webbville. You get a complete pictures of what was going on.

The EK Today link will include photos along the EK Highway with information regarding current events in Greenup, Carter, and Lawrence Counties.

The Eastern Kentucky Railway Historical Society has raised money and erected historical highway markers in Greenup, Argillite, Hunnewell, Grayson, and Webbville. This is done through member contributions. If you are interested in becoming a member for $10.00 a year, Please click here.
